Four steps, about two minutes
Every step is short, calm, and reversible. You always know what happens next. And you always know what you're getting before we ask you for anything.
- Step 01~2 minThe conversation
Chat with Julia, one question at a time
Julia hosts the guided conversation. She'll ask seven short, plain-English questions about your rooms, current flooring, and what you're trying to solve. No overwhelming form. No jargon. One question at a time.
- Rooms, square footage, and current flooring condition
- Lifestyle: who uses each room and how
- Priorities: budget comfort, timeline, accessibility
- Step 02instantYour profile
See your personalized remodel profile
Julia turns your answers into a Flooring Personality: the project path that actually fits how you live, with the tradeoffs called out. You see it on screen right away, before sharing any contact info.
- Recommended material tier (LVP, hardwood, tile, carpet)
- Honest cost range based on your scope
- The two or three specific tradeoffs to weigh
- Step 03yours to keepYour plan
Use it to plan, with or without us
Your profile belongs to you. Take it into contractor conversations. Use it to compare quotes apples-to-apples. Or just use it to clarify what you actually want. Plenty of homeowners stop here. That's a valid outcome, and honestly, a good one.
- Line-item checklist for comparing quotes
- Questions to ask any remodeler before you sign
- Cost-driver breakdown so surprises don't happen
- Step 04you decideOptional match
Get matched with a vetted local pro (only if you want)
If a real conversation with a remodeler is the right next step, opt in and we'll introduce you to one vetted local provider that fits your project. This step is entirely optional. Skipping it doesn't cost you the profile you already have.
- Only vetted, insured providers in our network
- One introduction, never a bidding-war blast
- Skip anytime; your profile stays yours
What we promise, every time
Four commitments that make FloorGuide feel different from every other flooring installation site.
Your remodel profile shows up before we ask for your name, email, or phone. That's the whole point of doing this.
We don't sell your data. Your contact info stays with us unless you explicitly opt in to be matched with a pro.
Seven short questions, one at a time. Most homeowners finish in under 2:30. Yes, we timed it.
You can stop at any point. A lot of people use FloorGuide purely to clarify their own thinking.
FloorGuide vs. a typical lead form
Same starting point. You want new flooring. Very different way of getting there.
- Name, email, phone required up front
- Sold or blasted to 3–5 contractors
- Cold calls within minutes of submitting
- No personalized recommendation
- No context on cost, scope, or trade-offs
- See your remodel profile before sharing anything
- One introduction, only if you opt in
- Personalized Flooring Personality result
- Honest cost range with scope assumptions
- Your profile is yours to keep, even if you skip matching

Every question in the guided FloorGuide, and every explanation on this page, is reviewed by Jason to make sure it reflects how homeowners actually talk and decide. The conversation itself keeps getting refined as we learn from real ones.

How the guided FloorGuide works, in detail
Is FloorGuide actually free?+
Yes. There's no fee to run the guided conversation or receive your personalized remodel profile. FloorGuide only earns revenue if you choose to be matched with a local pro at the end.
Do I have to share my email to see my results?+
No. Your Flooring Personality profile shows up on screen at the end of the conversation, before we ask for any contact info. You decide whether to go further.
What if I already know I want LVP flooring?+
Great. Julia will still ask a few clarifying questions to make sure the scope, timeline, and material details match how you actually use the room. The profile you get back is more specific than the category.
How is this different from a lead form?+
A lead form collects your contact info and ships it off to contractors before you know what you want. FloorGuide flips that: you get a useful, personalized profile first, and matching is optional and one-to-one.
How are local pros vetted?+
Providers in our network are checked for state licensure, active general liability insurance, and consumer complaint history. If a provider consistently gets negative homeowner feedback after a match, they come out of the network.
Where do the cost ranges come from?+
Ranges combine homeowner-reported quotes, industry cost benchmarks (Remodeling Magazine Cost vs. Value, HomeAdvisor, Angi), and manufacturer MSRPs. Each range is scoped. A $9k number and a $20k number assume different projects, and we say so.
Can I run it more than once?+
Absolutely. Plenty of homeowners do it more than once as their plans evolve, like after seeing a first quote or once a room's flooring starts to wear out. Every run generates a fresh profile.
Ready when you are.
